A Joint Statement on the Use of Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor (SSRI) Medications for Mental Health During Pregnancy

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and the Missouri Department of Mental Health, in collaboration with the Missouri Section of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Missouri Pregnancy-Associated Mortality Review Board, and the Missouri Perinatal Quality Collaborative (MO PQC), have issued a joint statement affirming that the use of SSRI medications to treat mental health conditions during pregnancy is both safe and appropriate.
