September is Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Awareness Month. FASDs, caused by prenatal alcohol exposure, can lead to lifelong behavioral, learning, and health challenges. Recent data shows 1 in 7 pregnant people drank alcohol in the past week, and 1 in 30 reported binge drinking in the past month.
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists offers resources to help providers and patients address this preventable health issue.
